Climb the Rating Ladder — Adults (Wednesdays)
Climb the Rating Ladder — Adults (Wednesdays)
OVERVIEW
This course meets online on Wednesdays for two hours, starting at 8:00pm ET (7:00pm CT, 6:00pm MT, 5:00pm PT).
This is our only online course designed exclusively for adults. This course is open to any adults ranging from beginner to 1600 USCF.
Unlike our other Climb the Rating Ladder courses, which involve weekly USCF-online-rated games and postgame analysis, this course only has rated games on the last day of the month. All other classes of the month will feature a lecture format.
Topics covered can include tactics, strategy, positional play, endgames, openings, how to improve, and more. On the final class of the month, participants play one USCF-online-regular-rated game after which National Master Sam Martin will help the class analyze their games together as a group.
Time control for rated games day (final day of the month): game in 25 minutes with a 5-second increment
Open to adults from any geographical location
Children should not join this course, but should instead join one of our other Climb the Rating Ladder offerings.
Active USCF membership required
Designed for players ranging from beginner level to 1600 USCF
The instructor for this class is National Master Sam Martin.
Zoom will be used for the meeting and lichess.org for the rated games day.
