OVERVIEW

This online camp runs from 11 am ET to 5 pm ET starting on Monday, July 28th and ending on Friday, August 1st.

This advanced camp is designed for students rated between 1100 and 1600. Students rated below 1100 are allowed to join the advanced camp as long as they can keep up with the material. Students below 1100 should understand that the instructor will be targeting a rating range of 1100-1600 when preparing lessons.

This camp cost $400, but there are two possible discounts. First, there is a sibling discount of $50 off per child (e.g. $100 total off for two siblings). Second, there is an early registration discount of $50 per child. The early registration discount lasts until April 30th. These two-discounts can be combined.

Buy Two Get One Free Discount: For the first time ever, we are offering a special discount: buy two camp entries and get a third one free! This can be combined with the early registration discount and siblings discount.

• Note that the buy two get one free discount is per student, and not per family (i.e. registering two siblings for the discount would not qualify for a third camp—they would both need to register for two camps and then they could receive a third free camp each).

• This discount expires on April 30, and will no longer be offered after that time.

• IMPORTANT: After purchasing two camp entries on the website, do not purchase the third camp entry. This one is free, so there is no need to submit payment. Please sign up for the free camp by emailing camps@dmvchess.com and indicating which week of camp you want to do for the free bonus camp. (We will also reach out to you via email if we notice two camp registrations.)

Pricing for Advanced Camp: Note that the advanced camp with IM Joshua Posthuma costs $350 (price goes up to $400 after 4/30). There is still a $50 siblings discount. This camp may count towards the buy-two-get-one free discount, but the free camp will be one of the regular-priced offerings (i.e. it is possible to use the advanced camp to qualify for the buy-two-get-one free discount, but the free entry cannot be applied to the advanced camp).

ABOUT International master joshua posthuma

Coach Joshua is an International Master. His USCF rating as of April 2023 is 2526, and his FIDE rating is 2457. He won back-to-back Michigan State Chess Championships in 2018 and 2019. Joshua is also a full-time professional chess instructor, and has guided numerous students to the USCF Top 100 list for their age groups. Joshua has dedicated his life to the game of chess, and has been an avid tournament player since the age of five.
